Crochet Lessons

Learn to make your own creations, from the functional to the beautiful, with just a hook and some yarn!

I love to crochet not only because I can make amazing creations but also because it brings me a sense of being in the present moment while also calming my anxiety.

In fact, studies show that crafting such as knitting or crocheting has many benefits on our mental and physical health:

  • Minimizes the effects of stress
  • Helps alleviate feelings of depression/anxiety
  • Postpones age-related cognitive impairment
  • Builds self-esteem
  • Develops/Improves fine motor skills
  • Builds resilience
  • Encourages creativity
  • Boosts counting and pattern recognition skills in children

It’s never too late to learn this fun & beneficial skill! With over 30 years of experience, my lessons can be tailored to meet your current skill level and interests.

I cover the basics like how to get started, crocheting in rows and in-the-round, weaving in ends, and reading printed patterns.

I focus on making items that interest you, whether that’s blankets and washcloths, clothing and accessories, or cute amigurumi (that’s Japanese for “miniature crochet figures”).

Investment:

Individual Lessons: $60 for 90 minutes of one-on-one instruction

Group Classes: $80 for 2 hours with 2-4 students

I accept students ages 8+ with varying levels of yarn-craft experience. Most beginners (who have never knit or crochet before) take a minimum of 4-6 lessons to get the hang of the basics. Those with some knitting experience often pick up crochet more quickly.

PLEASE NOTE: I am offering full and partial fee forgiveness for those whose finances have been affected by the pandemic. If you're interested in sessions but need to negotiate a reduced rate, please reach out.
