Herbs and medicinal foods are traditional medicines that form the basis of our own traditional healthcare system and are still used in cultures throughout the world.
This 4-class series teaches how herbs can be used for healing, nourishment, health maintenance, and first aid.
The first class will include a discussion on individual goals which will help guide the recipes taught throughout the series.
Students will have the opportunity to make different forms of herbal remedies and receive a many recipes to make their own family-friendly, herbal remedies at home.
Class 1: Herbalism Basics
Review of different types of herbal remedies (from tea/tisane to tinctures, elixirs, and more) and various factors that go into choosing a solvent medium and/or remedy type.
Class 2: Everyday Herbal Wellness
Learn simple ways to incorporate a variety of wellness-supporting herbs into your regular diet/routine to maintain and boost the health of the whole family.
Class 3: Remedies for Illness
Learn how to use herbs for the treating of specific illnesses such as respiratory infection and stomach upset, with detailed recipes that are safe, effective, and kid-friendly.
Class 4: Herbal Skin/Personal Care
Herbal remedies for first aid and personal/skin care, including specific herbs for supporting skin health and techniques for creating your own salves and skin care products.
This series is being offered for a single investment of $150, which includes detailed syllabus and all herbs/ingredients (students may be asked to provide their own jars/bottles for some classes; extras will be available to purchase for a small fee).
*NOTE: Cancellations must be received in writing no later than two weeks prior to the first class in the series. No refunds for cancellations received after that date.
