Bittersweet: How Sorrow and Longing Make Us Whole by Susan Cain

I recently discovered that one of my favorite authors (and introvert experts), Susan Cain, has a new book!

I loved her book Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking (and find it should be recommended reading for all of humanity), so I couldn’t wait to dive into this one… and it was amazing! Beautifully written, wonderful storytelling, poignant, and charming. The audiobook (which I got from my library) is read by the author, which makes her personal stories of melancholy and sorrow particularly touching.

Unlike Quiet, I’m not sure the content of THIS book will translate as well to those who don’t normally find themselves drawn to the melancholy of life. However, I really recommend it to those who have found that they appreciate and/or resonate with the bittersweet parts of life (art, music, etc.). 💙
